Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

 
Explanation of the endorsements:

   Endorsement 4815
  • Maize chlorotic mottle virus is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • A crop inspection report or laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Wheat streak mosaic virus.
  • All consignments must be free from India's quarantine weed seeds as per Schedule VIII of PQ Order 2003. Exporter must provide a laboratory analysis certificate attesting to the endorsement and to present to the Authorised Officer at time of inspection.
  • In Addition, visual inspection by the Authorised Officer must be undertaken as per instructional material for endorsing freedom from the following quarantine weed seeds.
   Endorsement 6882
  • Stewart's disease (Pantoea stewartii subsp stewartii), Nebraska wilt, (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp nebraskensis), Maize ergot (Claviceps gigantea), Anthracnose (Kabatiella zeae), Larger grain borer (Prostaphanus truncatus), Yellow leaf blight of maize (Mycosphaerrella zeae-maydis), Bacterial grapevine blight (Pantoea agglomerans) and Maize chlorotic mottle machlomovirus are not known to occur in Austalia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
  • A crop inspection report or laboratory analysis certificate is required for endorsing freedom from Southern leaf blight of corn (Drechslera maydis), Tropical rust (Physopella zeae), Bacterial leaf stripe of sorghum & corn (Burkholderia andropogonis), Bacterial sheath rot (Pseudomonas fuscovaginae), Halo blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv. coronafaciens) and Wheat streak mosaic virus.
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Maize weevil (Sitophilus zeamais).

  • All consignments must be free from India's quarantine weed seeds as per Schedule VIII of PQ Order 2003. Exporter must provide a laboratory analysis certificate attesting to the endorsement and to present to the Authorised Officer at time of inspection.

    In Addition, visual inspection by the Authorised Officer must be undertaken as per instructional material for endorsing freedom from the following quarantine weed seeds.


Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Non-GMO requirements:

India requires the goods are not genetically modified. The exporter is responsible for ensuring the consignment is accompanied by a Certificate as to Condition (Grain - GX46/Horticulture - HX46). The Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) has confirmed there are no approvals for commercial production of genetically modified cultivars of this product in Australia.

The following text must be added to the additional declaration field when a GX46/HX46 template is added to the RFP:

The Office of the Gene Technology Regulator has advised the department that there has been no intentional release into the Australian environment of genetically modified product(s) listed on this certificate.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 4815)
1) Maize chlorotic mottle virus is not known to occur in Australia,
2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from infestation,
3) The consignment is free from Wheat streak mosaic virus.
4) The consignment is free from quarantine weed seeds as per schedule VIII of PQ order 2003.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 6882)
