Explanation of endorsements

Endorsement 763:

Asian longhorned beetle (Anoplophora glabripennis) is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom on the phytosanitary certificate.

Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is required to endorse freedom from Tremex wasp (Tremex fuscicornis), Poinciana Longicorn (Agrianome spinicollis), Banksia longicorn (Paroplites australis), Dampwood bifiditermes termite (Bifiditermes improbus), Subterranean termite (Coptotermes acinaciformis) and Coptotermes termite (Coptotermes frenchi).

Each consignment is to be heat treated at:

  • 56 degrees Celsius (core temperature) for 30 minutes; 

OR

Fumigated with methyl bromide at: 

  • 48 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 21 degrees Celsius or above at Natural Atmospheric Pressure (NAP) as per Indian Plant Quarantine Order 2003;

OR

  • 56 grm/m3 at 16 - 20 degrees Celsius for 24 hours at NAP;

OR

  • 64 grm/m3 at 11 - 15 degrees Celsius for 24 hours at NAP.

OR

  • 72 grm/m3 at 10 degrees Celsius for 24 hours at NAP.

Note:

  • The Indian NPPO accepts the following dosage compensation for methyl bromide fumigation applied at temperatures between 10 and 21 degrees Celsius
  • Methyl bromide fumigation is not permitted at temperatures of below 10 degrees Celsius. Dosage compensation is not permitted for temperatures above 21 degrees Celsius.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the department at time of authorisation.
