A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 8433:
  • Scab (Elsinoe phaseoli) and leaf blight of Phaseolus bean (Phytophthora phaseoli) are not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required for endorsing freedom from these pests.
  • An area freedom certificate, a crop inspection report or a laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Phomopsis seed decay (Phomopsis longicolla) and Bacterial wilt (Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. Flaccumfaciens).
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Bean bruchid (Acanthoscelides obtectus).

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 8433)
1) Scab (Elsinoe phaseoli) and leaf blight of Phaseolus bean (Phytophthora phaseoli) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) Using official procedures, the consignment was found free of Phomopsis seed decay (Phomopsis longicolla) and Bacterial wilt (Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens),
3) A representative sample of the consignment was inspected and found free from Bean bruchid (Acanthoscelides obtectus).
