Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Each consignment is to be fumigated Methyl bromide, or by any other fumigant/ substance in the manner approved by the Indian Plant Protection Advisor, for 24 hours by one of the following treatments, according to the treatment details on the Import permit:
 
  • 18 grm/m3 at 21 degrees celsius, or above;
  • 16 grm/m3 at 21 degrees Celsius, or above.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
