Note:
Onions (Allium cepa) exported up to 31 January 2021 do not require fumigation prior to export, and will be subject to fumigation on arrival in India. After this time, onions will continue to require fumigation prior to export.
Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Each consignment is to be fumigated with Methyl bromide at 40gm/m3 for 3 hours at 21 degrees celsius, or above, under NAP or equivalent or by any other fumigant/ substance in the manner approved by the Indian Plant Protection Advisor.


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 2593)
1) Onion maggot (Hylemia antiqua) is not known to occur in Australia,
2) Onion smut (Urocystis cepulae) and Dry rot (Embellisia allii) are not known to occur in the state of production,
3) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 5910)
1) Onion maggot (Hylemia antiqua) is not known to occur in Australia,
2) Onion smut (Urocystis cepulae) and Dry rot (Embellisia allii) are not known to occur in the area of production,
3) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci).
