Note: Thedepartment cannot issue non-GMO certification or an Export Statement onbehalf of the OGTR for canola (Brassica napus and B. rapa) as geneticallymodified canola (Brassica napus and B. rapa) has been approved for commercial release inAustralia.

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


All consignments must be free from India's Quarantine weed seeds as per Schedule VIII of PQ Order 2003.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 600:
  • All consignments must be free from India's quarantine weed seeds as per Schedule VIII of PQ Order 2003. Exporter must provide a laboratory analysis certificate attesting to the endorsement and to present to the Authorised Officer at time of inspection.
  • In Addition, visual inspection by the Authorised Officer must be undertaken as per instructional material for endorsing freedom from the following quarantine weed seeds.
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from soil (as per normal tolerances).

Endorsement 604:

  • Is applicable when seeds are devitalized by heat treatment.
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from soil (as per normal tolerances).
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Note: No weed seed analysis certificate is required when exporters opt to undertake heat treatment for devitalisation of seeds.

ICR applies to both canola and mustard.
Consignments are to be devitalized by heat treatment at 120 degree Celsius for 15 minutes as an alternative to laboratory analysis for India's quarantine weed seeds.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Note: No treatment is required when exporters opt to undertake laboratory test analysis for India's quarantine weed seeds.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 600)
1) The consignment is free from quarantine weed seeds as per schedule VIII of PQ order 2003,
2) The consignment is free from soil.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 604)
1) The consignment was devitalised by heat treated at 120 degree Celsius for 15 minutes,
2) The consignment is free from soil.
