Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Consignments must be packed in hermetically sealed packages or containers.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

The fruits must be free from Frankiniella occidentalis.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 2660:

Applies to consignments produced, and packaged in Tasmania, which is free from Bactrocera ssp and Ceratis capitata. 

Endorsement 5791:

Applies to consignments that have been subject to onshore cold treatment.

Endorsement 5792:

Applies to consignments subject to in-transit cold treatment.

Endorsement 5793:

Applies to consignments treated with fumigation.
Consignments produced or packed outside Tasmania must be subject to one of the following treatments:
Onshore cold treatment

With one of the following schedules. Details of the treatment must be included in the treatment section of the phytosanitary certificate. Fruit subject to onshore cold treatment will be certified under endorsement 5791. 

In-transit cold treatment 

With one of the following schedules. The treatment must be completed before unloading in French Polynesia. Treatment undertaken in-transit will not be certified on the Phytosanitary certificate. Fruit subject to intransit will be certified under endorsement 5792. 
Cold treatment schedules

Treatment against Bactrocera spp:
  • 0 degrees Celsius or less for not less than 12 continuous days;

OR

  • 2.5 degrees Celsius or less for not less than 22 continuous days.

Treatment against Ceratitis capitata:
  • 0 degrees Celsius, or below, for a minomum of 10 continuous days;

OR

  • 2.5 degrees Celsius, or below, for a minimum of 16 continuous days.
Fumigation with Methyl bromide

With one of the following schedules. Details of treatment to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section. Fruit subject to fumigation will be certified under endorsement No 5793.
  • 48 grm/m3 for 2 hours at a core fruit temperature between 10 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius,

OR

  • 40 grm/m3 for 2 hours at a core fruit temperature between 16 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius,

OR

  • 32 grm/m3 for 2 hours at a core fruit temperature between 22 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius,

OR

  • 28 grm/m3 for 2 hours at a core fruit temperature between 28 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius.
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 2660)
1) No fruit flies (Bactrocera spp and Ceratitis capitata) have been found over the past 12 months within an 80km radius of the place where the fruits were produced and packaged, 
2) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Western flower thrip (Frankliniella occidentalis).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 5791)
1) The consignment was subject to onshore cold treatment.
2) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Western flower thrip (Frankliniella occidentalis).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 5792)
1) The consignment is subject to intransit cold treatment.
2) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Western flower thrip (Frankliniella occidentalis).

Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 5793)
1) The consignment was subject to fumigation.
2) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Western flower thrip (Frankliniella occidentalis).
