Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Consignments unable to be certified under endorsement 2545, are to be treated by:

Cold disinfestation, which may be undertaken on-shore or intransit, at:

Treatment against Bactrocera spp:

  • 0 degrees Celsius or less for not less than 12 days;

OR

  • 2.5 degrees Celsius or less for not less than 22 days.

Treatment against Ceratitis capitata:

  • 0 degrees Celsius, or below, for a minomum of 10 days;

OR

  • 2.5 degrees Celsius, or below, for a minimum of 16 days.

Treatment undertaken in-transit will not be certified on the Phytosanitary certificate.

Fumigation with Methyl bromide at 32 grm/m3 for 4 hours at a core fruit temperature of 21 degrees Celsius

Note:
  • add 8grm/m3 for each 5 degrees Celsius interval below 21 degrees Celsius;

OR

  • deduct 8grm/m3 for each 5 degrees Celsius interval above 21 degrees Celsius with minimum of 16 grm/m3.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) No fruit flies (Bactrocera spp and Ceratitis capitata) have been found over the past 12 months within an 80km radius of the place where the fruits were produced and packaged.
