Only product of the approved brand and approvedingredients is permitted to be exported and will be issued phytosanitarycertification.

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Exporter to provide evidence attesting to theingredients and to present to the Authorised Officer at time of inspection.

Authorised Officer must verify the brand of the product at time of inspectionand note on the Export Compliance Record.

The type of product must be stated on thePhytosanitary certificate in the Additional Product Description field e.g. Whole corn (Riverina brand). To enable the field on the RFP the exporter must submit a request to the EXDOC Plant Programs via email (EXDOCPlantPrograms@aff.gov.au).

Approved products are:
  • Whole corn (Riverina brand). Product contains: Corn (Authorised Officer to verify).
  • Hammered maize (Riverina brand). Product contains: Maize (Authorised Officer to verify).

Note:
  • Plant Exports is unable to attest to meatmeal or any diseases / pests associated with this ingredient.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 7169:
  • Applies if the product contains viable whole seeds of corn/maize (Zea mays) and the import permit requires an additional declaration certifying freedom from Stewart's disease (Pantoea stewartii).
  • Only applies to consignments containing viable whole seeds of corn/maize (Zea mays) of Australian origin.
  • Stewart's disease (Pantoea stewartii) is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
Endorsement 7544:
  • Applies if the product contains no viable whole seeds of corn/maize (Zea mays) and the import permit requires an additional declaration stating that the consignment does not contain any whole grain/seeds.
  • Exporter is to provide a manufacturer's declaration stating that the product is free of viable whole seeds to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Note: The listed Endorsement is only to be used in lieu of devitalisation treatment. No additional declaration is required on the phytosanitary certificate if the corn/maize (Zea mays) seeds in the consignment have undergone devitalisation treatment prior to export.
If the product contains viable whole seeds of corn/maize (Zea mays), and if required by the import permit, the consignment must undergo appropriate processing or treatment to devitalise the seeds. 

Alternatively, products containing viable whole seeds of corn/maize (Zea mays) may be certified free of pests of concern in lieu of devitalisation treatment. Refer to the Additional Declaration/Endorsements section below and the explanation of the endorsements in the General Requirements section for further details.  

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
