Printouts or direct electronic downloads of all temperature sensors are to be made available to the NPPO at the port of arrival in French Polynesia for final clearance of the consignment.
The treatment must be completed prior to the consignment arriving in French Polynesia regardless of the mode of transport.
Grape fruit sourced from areas where there have been no detections of Bactrocera spp and Ceratitis capitata as per EXDOC Endorsement No 2983 do not require any treatment.
Grape fruit sourced from other areas must be treated by cold treatment, either on-shore or in-transit, or fumigated with methyl bromide at one of the following rates:

Grape fruit treated on-shore require the following information on the Phytosanitary certificate in the “Treatment” section:
Treatment undertaken in-transit will not be certified on the Phytosanitary certificate.
Fruit must be pre-cooled until fruit pulp temperature is at or below the target treatment prior to initiation of the cold treatment.
Fumigation with methyl bromide at:
Grape fruit sourced from other areas must be treated by cold treatment, either on-shore or in-transit, or fumigated with methyl bromide at one of the following rates:
Cold treatment schedule against Bactrocera spp:
- 0 degrees Celsius, or below, for not less than 12 days;
OR
- 2.5 degrees Celsius, or below, for not less than 22 days.
Cold treatment schedule against Ceratitis capitata:
- 0 degrees Celsius, or below, for a minimum of 10 days;
OR
- 2.5 degrees Celsius, or below, for a minimum of 16 days.
Grape fruit treated on-shore require the following information on the Phytosanitary certificate in the “Treatment” section:
- treatment temperature;
- treatment commencement date;
AND
- date the treatment concluded.
Treatment undertaken in-transit will not be certified on the Phytosanitary certificate.
Fruit must be pre-cooled until fruit pulp temperature is at or below the target treatment prior to initiation of the cold treatment.
Fumigation with methyl bromide at:
- 48 grm/m3 for 2 hours at a temperature of 10-15 degrees Celsius;
OR
- 40 grm/m3 for 2 hours at a temperature of 16-21 degrees Celsius;
OR
- 32 grm/m3 for 2 hours at a temperature of 22-27 degrees Celsius;
OR
- 24 grm/m3 for 2 hours at a temperature of 28-32 degrees Celsius .

1) Cochylis spp is known not to occur in Australia,
2) No fruit flies (Bactrocera spp and Ceratitis capitata) have been found over the past 12 months within an 80km radius of the place where the fruits were produced and packaged,
3) A representative sample was inspected and found free of San Jose scale (Quadraspidiotus perniciosus).
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 2659)
1) Cochylis spp is known not to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample was inspected and found free of San Jose scale (Quadraspidiotus perniciosus).
