Explanation of the endorsements
Endorsement 8057:
- Cowpea mosaic virus is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
- A laboratory certificate is required to endorse freedom from Soybean mosaic virus.
- A pest free place of production declaration issued by a state government or grower or crop inspector is required to endorse freedom from Soybean downy mildew (Peronospora manshurica).
Also if required by the import permit, consignments may require fungicide treatment applied either by dipping or dusting as per below:
- Metalaxyl at 0.7 grm a.i. per kg of seeds and Captan at 0.7 grm a.i. per kg of seeds;
OR
- Metalaxyl at 0.7 grm a.i. per kg of seeds and Thiram at 1.0 grm a.i. per kg of seeds;
OR
- Another appropriate treatment approved against Peronospora manshurica.
Refer to the import permit to determine the appropriate treatments.
