Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

All consignments are to be free from live insects, soil, weed seeds and other contaminates

Restriction applies to compressed coconut husk that is packed in plastic bags.

Rhinocerus beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros), Scarab beetle (Strategus spp) and Rhinocerus beetle (Scapanes spp) are not known to occur in Australia
Consignments are to be treated prior to export with one of the following approved treatments:

  • Heat treatment at 85 degrees celsius for 24 hours (continuous hours), duration commences once the core temperature has been reached;

OR

  • Gamma irradiation at 25 kGray;

OR

Fumigation with Methyl bromide for 24 hours (continuous hours) at:

  • 20 degrees celsius and above at 400 grm/m3;

OR

  • 16 to 19 degrees celsius at 500 grm/m3;

OR

  • 11 to 15 degrees celsius at 600 grm/m3

Perforation of the plastic bags must be taken to ensure adequate dispersion of the gas within the product.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
