Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Important: Chilli must be from the Capsicum annuum species. 

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments certified under endorsement 6104, are to be treated by:

Cold disinfestation, which may be undertaken on-shore or intransit

Treatment against Bactrocera spp. for export from all states except Western Australia:
  • 0 degrees Celsius, or below, for a minimum of 12 days;

OR

  • 2.5 degrees Celsius, or below, for a minimum of 22 days.

Treatment against Ceratitis capitata for export from Western Australia only:
  • 0 degrees Celsius, or below, for a minimum of 10 days;

OR

  • 2.5 degrees Celsius, or below, for a minimum of 16 days.
Treatment undertaken in-transit will not be certified on the Phytosanitary certificate.

OR

Fumigation with methyl bromide
Treated at 32 grm/m3 for 2 hours at a core fruit temperature of 15 degrees Celsius or a dose equivalent to other temperatures.

OR

Heat Treatment
The products must have undergone a heat treatment with HTFA (high temperature forced air) at 43 degress Celcius for 3 hours 30 minutes.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 5742)
1) No fruit flies (Bactrocera spp and Ceratitis capitata) have been found over the past 12 months within an 80km radius of the place where the fruits were produced and packaged, 
2) Potato spindle tuber viroid are not known to occur in the area of production.
3) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Western flower thrip (Frankliniella occidentalis) and Tobacco whitefly (Bemisia tabaci).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 6104)
1) Potato spindle tuber viroid are not known to occur in the area of production.
2) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Western flower thrip (Frankliniella occidentalis) and Tobacco whitefly (Bemisia tabaci).
