Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure the consignment is exported within 14 days of inspection and the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.

No additional declarations are required for seed that will not be re-exported from France.

Listed additional declarations are for consignments that will be re-exported from France.

Seed intended for re-export from France

Additional declarations may need to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate for Australian seed being exported that will be re-exported from France. It is the exporter's responsibility to confirm whether any additional declarations are required for re-export purposes.

Requests by exporters for additional endorsements of seed for sowing being exported to France may be complied with where it is known that the seed shall be re-exported to another destination through a re-export phytosanitary certificate.

Exporters who require a new EXDOC Endorsement for re-export purposes are to provide written evidence of the additional declarations that need to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate. Requests are to be emailed to MicorPlants@aff.gov.au for action. Each endorsement in this Micor case is only valid for 12 months. If exporters want the endorsement extended beyond the current validity date, they need to contact GSEP grain.export@aff.gov.au to request such an extension.

Explanation of endorsements
  • No evidence is required to endorse freedom from pests which are not known to occur in Australia (i.e. when the Endorsement states "[pest name(s)] is / are not known to occur in Australia").

  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from pests where the Endorsement states "The crop was inspected and found free of [pest names]".

  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from pests where the Endorsement states "The crop was / The parent plants were inspected during active growth and found free from [pest names]".

  • A crop inspection certificate and/or a laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from pests where the Endorsement states "The seeds are free from [pest names]".

  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from India's quarantine weed seeds. This only applies to Endorsements which have the statement "A representative sample was tested and found free from Quarantine weed seeds listed in Schedule VIII of the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of import into India) Order, 2003".

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
