Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Growing media must be free of all animal and animal products.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.


Consignments are to be sterilized or pasteurised for at least 3 consecutive days at a minimum temperature of 55 degree Celsius and must have undergone a composting period of no less than six (6) weeks. Manufacturers' declaration to accompany each consignment.
Each consignment is to be fumigated with Methyl bromide at 48gm/m3 for 24 hours at 21 degrees Celsius or above, as close as possible to the loading of the consignment.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
