Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


BR>Only stolons sourced from the Bureau of Sugarcane Experiment Station (BSES) are permitted to be exported.

Only the varities of stolons stated on the import permit are permitted to be exported ¿uro;“ evidence of the varities of stolons must be substantiated by the Department of Agriculture Authorised Officer .

All stolons are to be hot water treated at 52 degrees celsius for 30 minutes and the ends dipped and sealed with wax.


A declaration by the BSES pathologists certifying to the treatment and sealing of the solons must be presented to the Department of Agriculture Authorised Officerat time of inspection and accompany the phytosanitary certificate ¿uro;“ this declaration is not certified by Department of Agriculture Authorised Officer

The stolons are to packed in appropriate packaging and sealed immediately after treatment.

The stolons, immediately prior to packing, are to be treated either by dipping or dusting with a suitable fungicide which contains 0.1% copper oxy-chloride and a suitable insecticide which contains 0.1% carbaryl and dipped for 1 minute.


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the department at time of authorisation.

1) The sugarcane stolons were grown and sourced from parental sugarcane plants grown in an area free from harmful pests, viruses and diseases of sugarcane.
