Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

 

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Import permits may indicate that freedom from Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) is required. The NPPO of Fiji has advised the department that the endorsement for freedom from Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) is not required for grain, nut or processed plant product commodities and is only required for fresh produce hosts
 

Consignments must be subject to a heat treatment process to ensure the nut is ready for consumption.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
