All peas exported to Fiji must:
Have had one of the following measures applied for Liriomyza huidobrensis:
- undergone appropriate pest control activities that are effective against Liriomyza huidobrensis
OR
- have been sourced from a pest free area for Liriomyza huidobrensis;
There are currently no recognised pest free areas for Liriomyza huidobrensis.
OR
- IRRADIATION AT MINIMUM 250 GRAY
OR
- fumigation with methyl bromide at:
- 32g/m3 for 3 hours at 21°C;
- 40g/m3 for 3 hours at 16°C - 20°C;
- 48g/m3 for 3 hours at 10°C - 15°C.
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Irradiation
- Irradiation at a minimum of 250 Gy
For irradiated product, the treatment is to be shown on the phytosanitary certificate as:
- IRRADIATION AT MINIMUM 250 GRAY;
For irradiated consignments – the treatment certificate is to accompany the consignment to Fiji.
Fumigation
- Fumigation with methyl bromide at:
- 32g/m3 for 3 hours at 21°C;
- 40g/m3 for 3 hours at 16°C - 20°C;
- 48g/m3 for 3 hours at 10°C - 15°C.
The treatment is to be shown on the phytosanitary certificate as:
- FUMIGATED WITH METHYL BROMIDE AT 32GRM/M3 FOR 3 HOURS AT 21 DEGREES CELSIUS
- FUMIGATED WITH METHYL BROMIDE AT 40GRM/M3 FOR 3 HOURS AT 16 - 20 DEGREES CELSIUS
- FUMIGATED WITH METHYL BROMIDE AT 48GRM/M3 FOR 3 HOURS AT 10 - 15 DEGREES CELSIUS
1) The peas in this consignment have been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free from any visually detectable quarantine pests, specified by the Ministry of Agriculture Biosecurity Authority of Fiji Islands.
2) The peas in this consignment have been treated with Methyl Bromide for Liriomyza huidobrensis.
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement No 6958)
1) The peas in this consignment have been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free from any visually detectable quarantine pests, specified by the Ministry of Agriculture Biosecurity Authority of Fiji Islands.
2) The peas in this consignment have been irradiated for Liriomyza huidobrensis.
Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement No 6959)
1) The peas in this consignment have been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free from any visually detectable quarantine pests specified by the Ministry of Agriculture Biosecurity Authority of Fiji Islands.
2) The peas in this consignment have been sourced from an area free (verified by an official detection survey) of Liriomyza huidobrensis.
Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement No 6960)
1) The peas in this consignment have been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free from any visually detectable quarantine pests, specified by the Ministry of Agriculture Biosecurity Authority of Fiji Islands.
2) The peas in this consignment have undergone appropriate pest control activities that are effective against Liriomyza huidobrensis.
