Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.


Exporter is to ensure any packing used is not hay, straw, chaff, or any decomposing material.
If stated on the import permit consignments are to be fumigated with Methyl bromide at 40 grm/m3 for 30 hours at 21 degrees celsius or above at NAP.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

 
Treatment is only to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate when the import permit states this requirement. When an import permit is presented with no treatment requirement, the consignment does not require treatment and a phytosanitary certificate will be issued without a treatment endorsement.
