Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


This includes:
  • Root mealy bugs, ants, spiders, mites, aphids, snails and soft scale;
  • Disease symptoms of anthracnose and other necrotic symptoms;
  • Other plant material and animal material

Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Exporter to provide a valid declaration signed and stamped by the nursery management that, the cuttings were sourced from healthy mother plants that have been grown in a nursery and proper husbandry practices have been carried out to eliminate pests and diseases and other extraneous contaminants of Department of Agriculture concern.

Exporter to provide a copy of the declaration and to present to the Department of Agriculture Authorised Officer at time of inspection

All cuttings must not exceed 75 cm in length and 300 grams in weight.

All cuttings must be wrapped in clean newspaper and be appropriately labelled.
The consignment must be dipped with:
  • An insecticide; Imidoclopris 70% WG at 20 grm/20 litres for 5 minutes (or an equivalent) and air dried for 30 minutes;

AND

  • A broad spectrum insecticide; Macozeb 80% WP at 40 grm/20 litres, or Captan at 3grms/litre for 10 minutes (or an equivalent) and air dried for 30 minutes.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Details of treatment, which must state the active ingredients, concentration and duration, to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section

Cuttings must be held in a secure shaded dry area following treatment
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 2507)
1) The cuttings were inspected and found free from insect pests, soil, weed seeds, arial roots and fungal rots,
2) The cuttings were inspected and found free from evidence of Fungal rot anthracnose (Glomerella cingulata).
