Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


ICR applies to garlic of China origin
  • All consignments are to be clean, free of soil and packed in clean new packages
  • All consignments must be accompanied by a Government of China Phytosanitary certificate indicating freedom from White rot (Sclerotium cepivorum) and Neck rot (Botrytis spp)
  • An official certificate from the Health Authority of China should accompany the consignment stating that human excreta has not been used as a fertilizer for the garlic
All fresh fruits and vegetables to Fiji must undergo a targeted inspection for fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda). Please refer to the Reference: Pests, diseases and contaminants of horticultural commodities and the Reference: Plant exports guide – Sampling horticulture for information on this pest and conducting a targeted inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Explanation of the endorsements

Option 1 Endorsement 7747:

Only applies where fumigation has been undertaken in Australia.

Option 2 Endorsement 7746:

Only applies where fumigation has been undertaken in China.
Consignments are to be fumigated with Methyl bromide at:
  • 48 grm/m3 at 15 degrees celsius or above for 2 hours (atmospheric);

OR

  • 40gm/m3 at 15 degrees celsius or above for 2 hours (vacuum).
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Pre-export fumigation is accepted and were undertaken, the details of treatment are to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 7747)
1) Fumigated with methyl bromide.
2) The consignment was inspected and found free from all life stages of Spodoptera frugiperda (Fall armyworm).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7746)
1) The consignment was inspected and found free from all life stages of Spodoptera frugiperda (Fall armyworm).
