Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
The import permit must include a list of approved species.
Import permits may indicate that freedom from Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) is required. The NPPO of Fiji has advised the department that the endorsement for freedom from Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) is not required for grain, nut or processed plant product commodities and is only required for fresh produce hosts.
Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.

Exporter is to ensure any packaging material used is not hay, straw, chaff, or any decomposing material.
Dried nuts, fruits and seeds must be hulled and free from quarantine risk material and unhulled seeds and nuts.
The ICRs are applicable to:
- Roasted Fruits and Nuts Mixed - Peanuts, Cashews, Sultana, Raisins and Almond (Arachis hypogaea, Anacardium occidentale, Vitis vinifera, Vitis vinifera, Prunus duclis).
- Almonds, Apricots, Incaberries, Pistachio & Hazelnut (Prunus duclis, Prunus armeniaca, Physalis peruviana, Pistacia vera, Corylus avellana).
- Sunflower seeds, Pepita, Sultanas & Almonds (Helianthus spp, Cucurbita pepo, Vitis vinifera, Prunus duclis).
- Peanuts, Almonds, Pistachio, Cashew & Walnuts (Arachis hypogaea, Prunus duclis, Pistacia vera, Anacardium occidentale, Juglans nigra).
- Almonds, Pepitas, Cranberries (Prunus duclis, Maria asumpta, Oxycoccus spp).
- Walnuts & Cranberries (Juglans nigra, Oxycoccus).
- Peanuts, Almonds, Pistachio, Cashews & Walnuts (Arachis hypogaea, Prunus duclis, Pistacia vera, Anacardium occidentale, Juglans nigra).
- Peanuts, Almonds, Pistachio, Cashews, Walnuts (Arachis hypogaea, Prunus duclis, Pistacia vera, Anacardium occidentale, Juglans nigra).
- Sunflower seeds, Pepitas, White sesame seeds, Cashews, Pine nuts, Black sesame seeds & Almonds (Helianthus spp, Cucurbita pepo, Sesamum indicum, Anacardium occidentale, Pinus pinea, Sesamum indicum nigrum & Prunus duclis)
- Pepitas, Sunflower seeds, Brown linseed, Chia seeds & Sesame seeds (Cucurbita pepo, Helianthus spp, Linum usitatissimum, Salvia hispanica & Sesamum indicum)
- Any other mixtures of dried fruits, nuts and seeds specified on the import permit.
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
A phytosanitary certificate with nil additional declaration is to be issued for dried fruits, nuts and seeds of Australian origin or for an import permit that does not state this additional declaration requirement.

If required by the import permit, consignments must be subjected to some form of high heat process (e.g. hulled, dried, roasted or dehydrated) prior to export.
If stated in the import permit, details of treatment must be endorsed in the treatment section on the phytosanitary certificate. The exporter is to provide a packer's declaration or a manufacturer's declaration attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Details of treatment do not require endorsement in the treatment section of the phytosanitary certificate if it is not stated in the import permit.
