A phytosanitary certificate with nil additional declaration is to be issued for seeds of Australian origin or for an import permit that does not state either of these additional declaration requirements.
Explanation of the endorsements
Endorsement 3009:
Applies to consignments containing seed that has been imported into Australia, re-packaged and exported to Fiji. Exporter is to either:
- State the country of origin of the seeds in the Additional Product Description, or
- Provide a copy of the departmental document titled 'Release from biosecurity control' which contains the 'Final Directives: Finalised and Released' direction that was issued for the products after arrival and release in Australia to the Authorised Officer at time of inspection, and upload a scan of this document to PEMS before requesting authorisation.
Endorsement 6889:
- Applies to consignments where the commodity is for human consumption, has complied with department import requirements when imported into Australia and would be allowed to be retailed in Australia. Same verification requirements as for endorsement 3009 apply.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 3009)
1) The seeds have fully complied with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry import requirements and standards and is allowed to be retailed in Australia.
2) The untreated seeds have been imported into Australia meeting all of the Australian Quarantine Standards.
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 6889)
1) The product is for human consumption, not a product of Australia and has fully complied with the department import requirements and standards and is allowed to be retailed in Australia.
1) The seeds have fully complied with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry import requirements and standards and is allowed to be retailed in Australia.
2) The untreated seeds have been imported into Australia meeting all of the Australian Quarantine Standards.
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 6889)
1) The product is for human consumption, not a product of Australia and has fully complied with the department import requirements and standards and is allowed to be retailed in Australia.
Import permit dated 20 May 2015 and 13 September 2021, consultation with Plant Import Operations 24 August 2022 and import permit dated 20 March 2024. .
