This Micor case covers all Brassica species listed in the import permit.

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.


Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


All Brassica species exported to Fiji must have had one of the following measures applied for Liriomyza huidobrensis:

Option 1(Endorsement 7360 is applicable)

  • fumigation with methyl bromide

The Brassicaceae crops must be trimmed, and outer leaves removed before fumigation. All coverings should be removed (plastic wraps, etc).

OR

Option 2 (Endorsement 7361 is applicable)

  • have been sourced from a pest free area for Liriomyza huidobrensis

Note: there are currently no recognised pest free areas for Liriomyza huidobrensis.

OR

Option 3 (Endorsement 7362 is applicable)

  • irradiation treatment

OR

Option 4 (Endorsement 7363 is applicable)

  • undergone appropriate pest control activities conducted infield that are effective against Liriomyza huidobrensis

Note: Crop monitoring record, spray diary, and growers' declaration are required when attesting to pest control activities conducted infield that are effective against Liriomyza huidobrensis.

All fresh fruits and vegetables to Fiji mustundergo a targeted inspection for fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda). Pleaserefer to the Reference: Pests, diseases andcontaminants of horticultural commodities and the Reference: Plant exports guide –Sampling horticulture for information onthis pest and conducting a targeted inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Irradiation

  • Irradiation at a minimum of 250 Gy
For irradiated product, the treatment is to be shown on the phytosanitary certificate as:
  • IRRADIATION AT MINIMUM 250 GRAY; 
For irradiated consignments – the treatment certificate is to accompany the consignment to Fiji.

Fumigation

  • Fumigation with methyl bromide for Liriomyza huidobrensis at:
    • 34g/m3 with 74.9 Ct (calculated on 54% retention rate) for 3 hours at 20°C or above;
    • 40g/m3 with 88.2 Ct (calculated on 54% retention rate) for 3 hours at 15°C or above;
    • 46g/m3 with 101.4 Ct (calculated on 54% retention rate) for 3 hours at 10°C or above.
The treatment is to be shown on the phytosanitary certificate as:
  • FUMIGATED WITH METHYL BROMIDE AT 34GRM/M3 WITH 74.9 CT FOR 3 HOURS AT 20 DEGREES CELSIUS OR ABOVE
  • FUMIGATED WITH METHYL BROMIDE AT 40GRM/M3 WITH 88.2 CT FOR 3 HOURS AT 15 DEGREES CELSIUS OR ABOVE
  • FUMIGATED WITH METHYL BROMIDE AT 46GRM/M3 WITH 101.4 CT FOR 3 HOURS AT 10 DEGREES CELSIUS OR ABOVE
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 7360)
1) The Brassicaceae crop in this consignment has been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free from any visually detectable quarantine pests, specified by the Ministry of Agriculture Biosecurity Authority of Fiji Islands.
2) The Brassicaceae crop in this consignment has been treated with Methyl Bromide for Liriomyza huidobrensis.
3) The consignment was inspected and found free from all life stages of Spodoptera frugiperda (Fall armyworm).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7361)
1) The Brassicaceae crop in this consignment has been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free from any visually detectable quarantine pests, specified by the Ministry of Agriculture Biosecurity Authority of Fiji Islands.
2) The Brassicaceae crop in this consignment has been irradiated for Liriomyza huidobrensis.
3) The consignment was inspected and found free from all life stages of Spodoptera frugiperda (Fall armyworm).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 7362)
1) The Brassicaceae crop in this consignment has been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free from any visually detectable quarantine pests specified by the Ministry of Agriculture Biosecurity Authority of Fiji Islands.
2) The Brassicaceae crop in this consignment has been sourced from an area free (verified by an official detection survey) of Liriomyza huidobrensis.
3) The consignment was inspected and found free from all life stages of Spodoptera frugiperda (Fall armyworm).

Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 7363)
1) The Brassicaceae crop in this consignment has been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and found to be free from any visually detectable quarantine pests, specified by the Ministry of Agriculture Biosecurity Authority of Fiji Islands.
2) The Brassicaceae crop in this consignment has undergone appropriate pest control activities conducted infield that are effective against Liriomyza huidobrensis.
3) The consignment was inspected and found free from all life stages of Spodoptera frugiperda (Fall armyworm).
