Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


All fresh fruits and vegetables to Fiji must undergo a targeted inspection for fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda). Please refer to the Reference: Pests, diseases and contaminants of horticultural commodities and the Reference: Plant exports guide – Sampling horticulture for information on this pest and conducting a targeted inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments are to be fumigated with methyl bromide at:
 
  • 32grm/m3 at 21 degrees Celsius for 2 hours;

OR

  • 40grm/m3 at 16-20 degrees Celsius for 2 hours;

OR

  • 48grm/m3 at 10-15 degrees Celsius for 2 hours.

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

Exporter to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and to present to the authorised officer approved by the department at time of inspection.

1) Fumigated with methyl bromide.
2) The consignment was inspected and found free from all life stages of Spodoptera frugiperda (Fall armyworm).
