Vicia faba seeds are listed as a prescribed grain under the Export Control (Plants and Plant Products) Rules 2021. As such, for any consignment containing more than 10kg of Vicia faba seeds, a Request For Permit (RFP) must be raised, the product inspected by an Authorised Officer and an export permit issued, prior to export. Consignments containing less than 10kg of prescribed grain are exempt from this requirement as per the Export Control (Prescribed Goods - General) Order 2005.
Explanation of the endorsement:
- Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient for endorsing freedom from Broadbean weevil (Bruchus rufimanus).
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 8015)
1) A representative sample of the seeds has been inspected and found free of Broadbean weevil (Bruchus rufimanus).
