Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.


Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Note: Bacterial leaf blight of rice (Xanthomonas oryzae pv oryzae) and Bacterial leaf streak of rice (Xanthomonas oryzae pv oryzicola) have limited distribution in the Northern Territory and Queensland, and these pests are not known to occur in other states. If the seeds are sourced from Australian states other than Northern Territory and Queensland, freedom from these pests may be endorsed without any supporting evidence.
Hot water treatment (at 56 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes) or another treatment effective against White tip nematode (Aphelenchoides besseyi) is mandatory when using EXDOC Endorsement 2055.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 2053)
1) Rice root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne graminicola) is not known to occur in Australia.
2) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of White tip nematode (Aphelenchoides besseyi) (Annex II, Part A, Section I (a)6),
3) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis) (Annex II, Part A, Section I (a)18),
4) Bacterial leaf blight of rice (Xanthomonas oryzae pv oryzae) and Bacterial leaf streak of rice (Xanthomonas oryzae pv oryzicola) are known not to occur in the area of production (Annex II, Part A, Section I (b)5).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 2055)
1) Rice root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne graminicola) is not known to occur in Australia.
2) The seed in this consignment was subjected to an appropriate hot water treatment or other appropriate treatment against White tip nematode (Aphelenchoides besseyi) (Annex II, Part A, Section I (a)6).
3) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis) (Annex II, Part A, Section I (a)18),
4) Bacterial leaf blight of rice (Xanthomonas oryzae pv oryzae) and Bacterial leaf streak of rice (Xanthomonas oryzae pv oryzicola) are known not to occur in the area of production (Annex II, Part A, Section I (b)5).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 938)
1) Rice root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne graminicola) is not known to occur in Australia.
2) The seed was sourced from pest free area of White tip nematode (Aphelenchoides besseyi) (Annex II, Part A, Section I (a)6),
3) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis) (Annex II, Part A, Section I (a)18),
4) Bacterial leaf blight of rice (Xanthomonas oryzae pv oryzae) and Bacterial leaf streak of rice (Xanthomonas oryzae pv oryzicola) are known not to occur in the area of production (Annex II, Part A, Section I (b)5).
