Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Permitted entry without an accompanying phytosanitary certificate if the seeds are not being used for sowing trials or in any other way sown. 

Lupinus seeds are listed as a prescribed grain under the Export Control (Plants and Plant Products) Rules 2021. As such, for any consignment containing more than 10kg of Lupinus seeds, a Request For Permit (RFP) must be raised, the product inspected by an Authorised Officer and an export permit issued, prior to export. Consignments containing less than 10kg of prescribed grain are exempt from this requirement as per the Export Control (Prescribed Goods - General) Order 2005.
