Hordeum vulgare seed for scientific research may be imported under a research letter of authority - regulations for this are stipulated under Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/829. If a letter of authority is obtained, no phytosanitary certificate is required and no phytosanitary inspection by an Authorised Officer is required.
If no letter of authority is used, the consignment must be inspected by an Authorised Officer and a phytosanitary certificate with endorsement 2052 must be issued.
Explanation of the endorsement:
Endorsement 2052
- Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient evidence for endorsing freedom from Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis).
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 2052)
1) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Argentine stem weevil (Listronotus bonariensis).
