- Where official inspections of fruit is required it may be undertaken by a person who has suitable qualifications to perform the inspection and make an official declaration.
All fruit flies (Tephritidae), as referred to in the regulation 2021/2285 EU point 77 of table 3, Part A of Annex II, are of quarantine concern to the EU.
Consignments sourced from outside a fruit fly PFA must undergo cold treatment for fruit fly. Cold treatment can be conducted onshore prior to export, or in-transit.
Cold treatment: 3 degrees Celsius, or below, for 14 days.
Details of onshore cold treatment to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.
Methyl bromide fumigation rate at either:
- 18 g/m3 at ≥ 18°C for 5.5 hrs;
OR
- 32 g/m3 at ≥ 21°C for 2 hrs;
OR
- 40 g/m3 at ≥ 17°C for 2 hrs
1) This consignment complies with Annex VII, point 61 (b) of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2072, modified by the regulation 2021/2285 EU; the fruits originate in an area established by the Australian Government as being free from fruit flies (Tephritidae) as referred to in point 77 of table 3, Part A of Annex II.
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 5844)
1) This consignment complies with Annex VII, point 61 (d) of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2072, modified by the regulation 2021/2285 EU; the fruits have been subjected to an effective post-harvest treatment to ensure freedom from fruit flies (Tephritidae) as referred to in point 77 of table 3, Part A of Annex II.
Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 5856)
1) This consignment complies with Annex VII, point 61 (d) of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2072, modified by the regulation 2021/2285 EU; the fruits will be subjected to an effective post-harvest treatment to ensure freedom from fruit flies (Tephritidae) as referred to in point 77 of table 3, Part A of Annex II, subject to in-transit cold treatment at 3 degrees Celsius for 14 days.
