Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
A copy of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of making an appointment for inspection. Where the information cannot be provided in English, the import permit must be accompanied by an English translation.
If stated by permit the consignment must beaccompanied by a seed inspection and testing certificate. Refer to permit forrequired content.
Consignments up to 0.5 kg per variety do not require an Import Permit
Consignments exceeding 0.5 kg per variety require an Import Permit
A Certificate as to Condition (GX46) with the following radiation statement may be issued if requested by the exporter. The issuance of the Certificate as to Condition is to certify the following radiation statement:
"The goods described on this certificate have not been contaminated by radioactive elements from nuclear fall-out. They therefore fall within the permissible limit set by the Egyptian Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade."
An Ergot tolerance of 0.01% applies.
