Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

If specified on the import permit, the consignment must be accompanied by a certificate of origin and a non-GMO certificate.

Explanation of the endorsement

Endorsement 8092:
  • An area freedom certificate issued by a state government is required to endorse freedom from from Bacterial blight of carrot (Xanthomonas hortorum pv. carotae), Leaf blight of carrots (Alternaria dauci) and Cercospora leaf spot of carrot (Cercospora carotae).
Endorsement 8093:
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Bacterial blight of carrot (Xanthomonas hortorum pv. carotae), Leaf blight of carrots (Alternaria dauci) and Cercospora leaf spot of carrot (Cercospora carotae).
Endorsement 8094:
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Bacterial blight of carrot (Xanthomonas hortorum pv. carotae) and the consignment is required to be treated with an appropriate fungicide against Leaf blight of carrots (Alternaria dauci) and Cercospora leaf spot of carrot (Cercospora carotae).

Non-GMO requirements:

If certification is required (refer to import permit/NPPO notification), the exporter is responsible for ensuring that the consignment is accompanied by a Certificate as to Condition attesting that the seed has not been genetically modified.

If requested, a Certificate as to Condition (Grain - GX46/Horticulture - HX46) can be issued for the consignment that is specifically supported from information supplied by the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) and where it is a government requirement of the importing country for non-GMO certification (refer to import permit/NPPO Notification).

The following text must be added to the additional declaration field when a GX46/HX46 template is added to the RFP:

The Office of the Gene Technology Regulator has advised the department that there has been no intentional release into the Australian environment of genetically modified product(s) listed on this certificate.

If required, the consignment must be treated with an appropriate fumigant or dressed with an appropriate pesticide (fungicide and insecticide) at manufacturers recommended rates.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 8092)
1) Bacterial blight of carrot (Xanthomonas hortorum pv. carotae), Leaf blight of carrots (Alternaria dauci) and Cercospora leaf spot of carrot (Cercospora carotae) are not known to occur in the area of production.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 8093)
1) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Bacterial blight of carrot (Xanthomonas hortorum pv. carotae), Leaf blight of carrots (Alternaria dauci) and Cercospora leaf spot of carrot (Cercospora carotae).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 8094)
1) The consignment was found free through official testing and inspection procedure of Bacterial blight of carrot (Xanthomonas hortorum pv. carotae),
2) The consignment has been treated with an appropriate fungicide against Leaf blight of carrots (Alternaria dauci) and Cercospora leaf spot of carrot (Cercospora carotae).
