Treatment by Methyl bromide fumigation, at a loading of not greater than 50% chamber capacity, at:
- 16 grm/m3 for 2 hours at 32 degrees Celsius or above;
OR
- 24 grm/m3 for 2 hours at 28-32 degrees Celsius;
OR
- 32 grm/m3 for 2 hours at 21-28 degrees Celsius;
OR
- 40 grm/m3 for 2 hours at 16-21 degrees Celsius;
OR
- 48 grm/m3 for 2 hours at 11-16 degrees Celsius
The Cook Islands allows dosage compensation when fumigation is applied to commodities with core temperature below 21 °C (min 10 °C).
1) The Asparagus officinalis in this consignment has been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and is considered to be free from regulated pests specified by the Cook Islands Ministry of Agriculture Biosecurity Service,
2) Been sourced from beds such that all hosts of (and including) the designated asparagus beds were inspected prior to the harvest of spears in the consignment and found to be free from signs and symptoms of Asparagus stem blight (Phomopsis asparagi) and Asparagus rust (Puccinia asparagi),
3) Have been fumigated with Methyl bromide.
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 2619)
1) The Asparagus officinalis in this consignment has been inspected in accordance with appropriate official procedures and is considered to be free from regulated pests specified by the Cook Islands Ministry of Agriculture Biosecurity Service,
2) Have been sourced from beds that have undergone a pest control program that is effective against Asparagus stem blight (Phomopsis asparagi) and Asparagus rust (Puccinia asparagi),
3) Have been fumigated with Methyl bromide.
