Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.


If required by the import permit, importers must inform ICA that the material is not transgenic.

Explanation of the endorsement

Endorsement 7871:

  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Flat grain beetle (Cryptolestes pusillus).
  • A laboratory analysis certificate for Carrot black rot (Alternaria radicina), Leaf blight (Alternaria carotiincultae) and Bacterial blight of carrot (Xanthomonas hortorum pv. carotae) is required for endorsing freedom from these pests.
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Consignments are to be treated with an appropriate broad spectrum fungicide at manufacturers label requirements.

2)  A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Carrot black rot (Alternaria radicina), Leaf blight (Alternaria carotiincultae) and Bacterial blight of carrot (Xanthomonas hortorum pv. carotae).
