Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Establishment registration requirements:
- It is the inspection and packing registered establishment's responsibility to ensure they are registered with the GACC prior preparing or exporting mung beans to China. This registration is separate to the department's registration of export registered establishments.
- If a registered establishment is inspecting and packing mung beans to China for the first time then contact must be made with the Grain and Seed Export Program (Grain.Export@agriculture.gov.au) so that the name and location of your business can be provided to GACC. GACC registered establishments are published on the GACC website.
Explanation of the endorsements
Endorsement 1087:
- No evidence is required to endorse freedom from Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) and Bean Weevil (Zabrotes subfasciatus).
- Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer may be used as evidence for endorsing freedom from Bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus), Cowpea weevil (Callosobruchus maculatus), Bean weevil (Callosobruchus analis) and Weevil (Callosobruchus phaseoli).
Endorsement 603:
- No evidence is required to endorse freedom from Southern bean mosaic virus.
- A laboratory analaysis certificate must be presented as evidence for endorsing freedom from Sorghum (Sorghum almum) and Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense).
- Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer may be used as evidence for endorsing freedom from Bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus) and Bean weevil (Callosobruchus analis).
- Broad bean stain virus is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
- Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer may be used as evidence for endorsing freedom from Bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus), Bean weevil (Callosobruchus analis), Sorghum (Sorghum almum) and Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense).
- A laboratory analysis certificate must be presented as evidence for endorsing freedom from Dodder (Cuscuta spp).
- Phytophthora root rot (Phytophthora megasperma) and Arabis mosaic virus are not on Vigna radiata seed export pathway. Freedom from these pests may be endorsed without any supporting evidence.
- No evidence is required to endorse freedom from Southern bean mosaic virus
- Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer may be used as evidence for endorsing freedom from Bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus), Bean weevil (Callosobruchus analis), Sorghum (Sorghum almum) and Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense).
Exporters must refer to the import permit to verify the appropriate additional declaration requirement for their consignment.
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 1087)

2) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus), Cowpea weevil (Callosobruchus maculatus), Bean weevil (Callosobruchus analis) and Weevil (Callosobruchus phaseoli).
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 603)
1) Southern bean mosaic virus is not known to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample has been tested in an approved laboratory and found to be free from Sorghum (Sorghum almum) and Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense),
3) A representative sample has been inspected and found to be free from Bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus) and Bean weevil (Callosobruchus analis).
Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 3596)
1) Broad bean stain virus is not known to occur in Australia.
2) Using official procedures, the consignment was found free of Bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus), Bean weevil (Callosobruchus analis), Sorghum (Sorghum almum) and Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense), Phytophthora root rot (Phytophthora megasperma), Dodder (Cuscuta spp) and Arabis mosaic virus.
