This ICR applies to the following:
  • Vigna mungo
  • Vigna radiata var. radiata
  • Vigna unguiculata
Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Any consignments with an ISTA analysis certificate which states a presence of soil greater than 0.1% of the sample (weight by weight) are required to be retested in Chile for soil. If testing in Chile confirms that soil presence is greater than 0.1% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected. Additionally, if soil is found during on-arrival inspection in Chile, the consignment will be rejected. It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure the soil content of a consignment meets Chile's requirements.

Note: The Chilean NPPO conducts germination testing on arrival. It is the exporter's responsibility to verify germination requirements with the Chilean NPPO and to meet Chile's germination requirements.

Explanation of the endorsements:

Endorsement 8008:
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Bacterial wilt (Curtobacterium flaccumfasciens pv. flaccumfasciens).
Endorsement 8009:
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Bacterial wilt (Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens).
Endorsement 8010:
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Lentil anthracnose (Colletotrichum truncatum) and insects of the Bruchidae family and Bacterial wilt (Curtobacterium flaccumfasciens pv. flaccumfasciens).
Endorsement 8011:
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Lentil anthracnose (Colletotrichum truncatum).
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Bacterial wilt (Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens).
Consignment to be fumigated with:

Methyl bromide at:

  • 48grm/m3 at 21 degrees Celsius or above for 2.5 hours;

OR

  • 48grm/m3 at 15.9 - 20.9 degrees Celsius for 3 hours;
OR
  • 48grm/m3 at 10.0 - 15.4 degrees Celsius for 3.5 hours
Gas concentrations must be monitored and recorded at the start of fumigation and at reading times as shown in Table 1 after equilibrium has been achieved to assure that the minimum concentration of methyl bromide is maintained.

If required, consignment must be treated for Lentil anthracnose (Colletotrichum truncatum) with an appropriate fungicide according to manufacturer's label requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 8008)
1) The shipment has been treated to control Lentil anthracnose (Colletotrichum truncatum) and insects of the Bruchidae family,
2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Bacterial wilt (Curtobacterium flaccumfasciens pv. flaccumfasciens).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 8009)
1) The shipment has been treated to control Lentil anthracnose (Colletotrichum truncatum) and insects of the Bruchidae family,
2) The shipment according to official laboratory analysis (PCR) is free of Bacterial wilt (Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 8010)
1) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Lentil anthracnose (Colletotrichum truncatum) and insects of the Bruchidae family,
2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Bacterial wilt (Curtobacterium flaccumfasciens pv. flaccumfasciens).

Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 8011)
