Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that seeds meet Chile's qualityrequirements for seeds for sowing. Chile's NPPO may reject consignments if they do not meet the requirements.

Any consignments with an ISTA analysis certificate which states that a presence of soil is equal or greater than 0.2% and less than 0.5% of the sample weight are required to be retested in Chile for soil (SISVEG Observations field).

If testing in Chile confirms that soil presence is equal to or greater than 0.5% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected.
If testing in Chile confirms that soil presence is equal to or greater than 0.2% and less than 0.5% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected, however a seed screening process to eliminate the cause of rejection can be requested.

Any consignments with an ISTA analysis certificate which states that a presence of soil is equal or greater than 0.5% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected.

Additionally, if soil is found during on-arrival inspection in Chile, the consignment will be rejected. It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure the soil content of a consignment meets Chile's requirements.

Note: The Chilean NPPO conducts germination testing on arrival. It is the exporter's responsibility to verify germination requirements with the Chilean NPPO and to meet Chile's germination requirements.

Explanation of the endorsements:

Endorsement 7516:

Seed weevils (Apion craccae and Apion pisi) and Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) are not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
A laboratory analysis certificate indicating that PCR was used is required to verify freedom from Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci-Oats strain, Broad bean giant strain and Oats-onion strain).
A crop inspection certificate is required to verify freedom from Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi).
Treatment for Lentil anthracnose (Colletotrichum truncatum) and insects of the Bruchidae family must be done as per the Treatment section below.

Endorsement 7517:

Endorsement 7988:

Crop inspection or pest free production site certificate is required to verify freedom from Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci-Oats strain, Broad bean giant strain and Oats-onion strain).
A laboratory analysis certificate indicating that PCR was used is required to verify freedom from Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi).

Gas concentrations must be monitored and recorded at the start of fumigation and at reading times as shown in Table 1 after equilibrium has been achieved to assure that the minimum concentration of methyl bromide is maintained.

Phosphine fumigation at:

Note: The Department's minor use permit for Phosphine does not allow for Phosphine treatment periods of less than:

7 days when commodity temperature is above 25 degrees Celsius;
10 days when commodity temperature is 15 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius.

In instances where the treatment period is longer than Chile's prescribed treatment period, the treatment period should be endorsed as "[Chile's prescribed period] or above."

Consignment is also required to be treated for Lentil anthracnose (Colletotrichum truncatum) with an appropriate fungicide according to manufacturer's label requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
