It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that seeds meet Chile's quality requirements for seeds for sowing. Chile's NPPO may reject consingmentsif they do not meet the requirements.
Any consignments with an ISTA analysis certificate which states a presence of soil greater than 0.1% of the sample (weight by weight) are required to be retested in Chile for soil. If testing in Chile confirms that soil presence is greater than 0.1% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected. Additionally, if soil is found during on-arrival inspection in Chile, the consignment will be rejected. It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure the soil content of a consignment meets Chile's requirements.
