ICR does not apply to Phalris bracystachys seed.
It is the exporter's responsibility to ensurethat seeds meet Chile's quality requirements for seeds for sowing. Chile'sNPPO may reject consignments if they do not meet the requirements.
Any consignments with an ISTA analysis certificate which states a presence of soil greater than 0.1% of the sample (weight by weight) are required to be retested in Chile for soil. If testing in Chile confirms that soil presence is greater than 0.1% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected. Additionally, if soil is found during on-arrival inspection in Chile, the consignment will be rejected. It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure the soil content of a consignment meets Chile's requirements.
Explanation of the endorsements
Endorsement 8410:
- Bent grass nematode (Anguina agrostis) is known not to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
- A treatment certificate attesting to fungicide treatment using one of the products listed in the Treatment section is required to endorse freedom from Leaf blight (Cochliobolus victoriae).
- Bent grass nematode (Anguina agrostis) is known not to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
- A laboratory analysis certificate indicating that a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) process was used is required to endorse freedom from Leaf blight (Cochliobolus victoriae).
Endorsement 7587:
- Bent grass nematode (Anguina agrostis) is known not to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
- A laboratory analysis certificate indicating that a freezing blotter method was used is required to endorse freedom from Leaf blight (Cochliobolus victoriae).
If endorsement 7580 or 7587 is used, no treatment is required for Phalaris spp seeds to Chile and no treatment details to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate.
If endorsement 8410 is used, the seed is to be treated for the control of Leaf blight (Cochliobolus victoriae) with one of the following fungicide products: Fungicide treatment with either Thiram, Carbendazim, Carboxin + Thiram or Tiabendazol.
The treatment must be endorsed in the treatment section of the Phytosanitary certificate.
Note:The import requirements reference benomyl fungicide treatment, however thereare no products containing benomyl which are registered by the AustralianPesticide and Veterinary Medicines Authority for use in Australia.

2) According to the results of official laboratory test using the freezing blotter method, the seeds are free from Leaf blight (Cochliobolus victoriae).
