It is the exporter's responsibility to ensurethat seeds meet Chile's quality requirements for seeds for sowing. Chile'sNPPO may reject consignments if they do not meet the requirements.
Any consignments with an ISTA analysis certificate which states a presence of soil greater than 0.1% of the sample (weight by weight) are required to be retested in Chile for soil. If testing in Chile confirms that soil presence is greater than 0.1% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected. Additionally, if soil is found during on-arrival inspection in Chile, the consignment will be rejected. It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure the soil content of a consignment meets Chile's requirements.

Explanation of the endorsements:
Endorsement 4945:
- A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom form Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus).
- A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus).

Consignments are to be treated for the control of Ascochyta caulicola with one of the following fungicides: Carboxin, Thiabendazole, Carbendazim or other suitable group recommended for treatment against Ascochyta caulicola.
Note: The import requirements reference benomyl fungicide treatment, however there are no products containing benomyl which are registered by the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicines Authority for use in Australia.

- 48grm/m3 at 21 degrees Celsius or above for 2.5 hours;
OR
- 48grm/m3 at 15.9 - 20.9 degrees Celsius for 3 hours;
- 48grm/m3 at 10.0 - 15.4 degrees Celsius for 3.5 hours
Gas concentrations must be monitored and recorded at the start of fumigation and at reading times as shown in Table 1 after equilibrium has been achieved to assure that the minimum concentration of methyl bromide is maintained.

Note: The Department's minor use permit for Phosphine does not allow for Phosphine treatment periods of less than:
- 7 days when commodity temperature is above 25 degrees Celsius;
- 10 days when commodity temperature is 15 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius.
In instances where the treatment period is longer than Chile's prescribed treatment period, the treatment period should be endorsed as "[Chile's prescribed period] or above."
