It is the exporter's responsibility to ensurethat seeds meet Chile's quality requirements for seeds for sowing. Chile'sNPPO may reject consignments if they do not meet the requirements.
Note: Chilean regulation 7675/2016 does not specifically reference Helianthus annuus seed and its entry conditions. On the basis of existing seed for sowing market cases referenced under the regulation an import permit is not required, but the exporter assumes all commercial risk if they do not confirm entry requirements with the Chilean authorities prior to export.
Explanation of endorsements
Endorsement 1108:
- Applies to consignments which have not been treated.
- A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Alternaria leaf spot of Sunflowers (Alternaria helianthi).
- Stem canker and stalk rot of sunflower (Phomopsis helianthi) is not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests.

Note: The import requirements reference benomyl fungicide treatment, however there are no products containing benomyl which are registered by the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicines Authority for use in Australia.
