Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Any consignments with an ISTA analysis certificate which states a presence of soil greater than 0.1% of the sample (weight by weight) are required to be retested in Chile for soil. If testing in Chile confirms that soil presence is greater than 0.1% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected. Additionally, if soil is found during on-arrival inspection in Chile, the consignment will be rejected. It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure the soil content of a consignment meets Chile's requirements.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 8410:
  • Bent grass nematode (Anguina agrostis) is known not to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • A treatment certificate attesting to fungicide treatment using one of the products listed in the Treatment section is required to endorse freedom from Leaf blight (Cochliobolus victoriae).
The seed is to be treated for the control of Leaf blight (Cochliobolus victoriae) with one of the following fungicide products in alternative form: Carboxin, Carboxin + Thiram, Tiabendazol or others properly described.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
