Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that seeds meet Chile's quality requirements for seeds for sowing. Chile's NPPO may reject consignmentsif they do not meet the requirements.

Any consignments with an ISTA analysis certificate which states a presence of soil greater than 0.1% of the sample (weight by weight) are required to be retested in Chile for soil. If testing in Chile confirms that soil presence is greater than 0.1% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected. Additionally, if soil is found during on-arrival inspection in Chile, the consignment will be rejected. It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure the soil content of a consignment meets Chile's requirements.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Explanation of endorsements

Endorsement 3106:
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Black rot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae).
  • A treatment certificate attesting to the treatment described in the Treatment section of this case is sufficient evidence to endorse treatment for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
Endorsement 3107:
  • A laboratory analysis certificate indicating that ELISA testing was conducted is required to endorse freedom from Black rot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae).
  • A treatment certificate attesting to the treatment described in the Treatment section of this case is sufficient evidence to endorse treatment for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
Endorsement 1154:
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Black rot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae) and Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare)

Additional declaration endorsements for laboratory testing must specify the diagnostic technique used to certify freedom from the pests. Exporters are to contact MICoR Plants (MicorPlants@aff.gov.au) if alternative diagnostic technique endorsements are required.
If endorsements 3106 or 3107 are used, the seeds are to be treated with appropriate fungicide according to the label requirements for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare). No treatment is required if endorsement 1154 is used.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 3106)
1) The crop wasinspected during active growth and found to be free of Black rot (Xanthomonas campestrispv.  cucurbitae).
2) Consignment has been treated for the control of Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).

Option 3 (EXDOCEndorsement 3107)
1) According to the results of official laboratory test using ELISA, theconsignment was found free of Black rot (Xanthomonas campestrispv.  cucurbitae).
2) Consignment has been treated for the control of Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
