Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that seeds meet Chile's quality requirements for seeds for sowing. Chile's NPPO may reject consignmentsif they do not meet the requirements.


Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Any consignments with an ISTA analysis certificate which states a presence of soil greater than 0.1% of the sample (weight by weight) are required to be retested in Chile for soil. If testing in Chile confirms that soil presence is greater than 0.1% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected. Additionally, if soil is found during on-arrival inspection in Chile, the consignment will be rejected. It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure the soil content of a consignment meets Chile's requirements.

Explanation of endorsements

Endorsement 3106:
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Black rot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae).
  • A treatment certificate attesting to the treatment described in the Treatment section of this case is sufficient evidence to endorse treatment for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
Endorsement 3107:
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Black rot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae).
  • A treatment certificate attesting to the treatment described in the Treatment section of this case is sufficient evidence to endorse treatment for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
Endorsement 1154:
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Black rot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae) and Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
The seeds are to be treated with appropriate fungicide according to the label requirements for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare) when using EXDOC endorsements 3106 or 3107. No treatment is required when using endorsement 1154.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 1154)
1) The crop was inspected during active growth and found to be free of Black rot (Xanthomonas campestris pv.  cucurbitae) and Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).

Option 2 (EXDOV Endorsement 3106)
1) The crop was inspected during active growth and found to be free of Black rot (Xanthomonas campestris pv.  cucurbitae).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 3107)
1) The consignment was found free through laboratory testing of Black rot (Xanthomonas campestris pv.  cucurbitae).
