It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that seeds meet Chile's quality requirements for seeds for sowing. Chile's NPPO may reject consignments if they do not meet the requirements.
Any consignments with an ISTA analysis certificate which states a presence of soil greater than 0.1% of the sample (weight by weight) are required to be retested in Chile for soil. If testing in Chile confirms that soil presence is greater than 0.1% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected. Additionally, if soil is found during on-arrival inspection in Chile, the consignment will be rejected. It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure the soil content of a consignment meets Chile's requirements.
Explanation of the endorsements:
Endorsement 570:
- An area freedom certificate issued by a state government is required to endorse freedom from Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans) and Cucurbits leaf spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae).
- A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
Endorsement 6517:
- An area freedom certificate issued by a state government is required to endorse freedom from Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans) and Cucurbits leaf spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae).
- A treatment certificate attesting to the treatment described in the Treatment section of this case is sufficient evidence to endorse treatment for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
Endorsement 571:
- A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare), Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans) and Cucurbits leaf spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae)
Endorsement 6519:
- A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans) and Cucurbits leaf spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae)

Consignment to be fungicide treated with Thiram or Tianbendazole (or other approved fungicide) at the recommended manufacturers rate.
If endorsements 6517 or 6519 are used, the seeds are to be treated with appropriate fungicide according to the label requirements for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).

1) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans), Cucurbits leaf spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae) and Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
