Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


It is the exporter's responsibility to ensurethat seeds meet Chile's quality requirements for seeds for sowing. Chile'sNPPO may reject consignments if they do not meet the requirements.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Any consignments with an ISTA analysis certificate which states a presence of soil greater than 0.1% of the sample (weight by weight) are required to be retested in Chile for soil. If testing in Chile confirms that soil presence is greater than 0.1% of the sample weight, the consignment will be rejected. Additionally, if soil is found during on-arrival inspection in Chile, the consignment will be rejected. It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure the soil content of a consignment meets Chile's requirements.

Explanation of the endorsements:

Endorsement 3300:
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans), Bacterial spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae), Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare) and Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus.
Endorsement 3301:
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans), Bacterial spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae) and Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus.
  • A treatment certificate attesting to the treatment described in the Treatment section of this case is sufficient evidence to endorse treatment for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
Endorsement 3302:
  • A laboratory analysis certificate indicating that bacterial isolation testing was conducted is required to endorse freedom from Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans) and Bacterial spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae) and Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus.
  • A treatment certificate attesting to the treatment described in the Treatment section of this case is sufficient evidence to endorse treatment for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
Endorsement 7618:
  • A laboratory analysis certificate indicating that bacterial isolation testing was conducted for Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans) and Bacterial spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae) is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
  • A laboratory analysis certificate indicating that ELISA testing was conducted for Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus is required to endorse freedom from this pest.
  • A treatment certificate attesting to the treatment described in the Treatment section of this case is sufficient evidence to endorse treatment for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).

Additional declaration endorsements for laboratory testing must specify the diagnostic technique used to certify freedom from the pests. Exporters are to contact MICoR Plants (MicorPlants@aff.gov.au) if alternative diagnostic technique endorsements are required.
The seeds are to be treated with appropriate fungicide according to the label requirements for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare) when using EXDOC Endorsement 3301 and 3302 and 7618. Specify the treatment in section III of the phytosanitary certificate.

No treatment is required when EXDOC Endorsement 3300 is used.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 3300)
1) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans), Bacterial spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae), Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare) and Cucumber Green Mottle Mosaic Virus.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 3301)
1) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans) and Bacterial spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae) and Cucumber Green Mottle Mosaic Virus,
2) Consignment has been treated for the control of Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).

 
Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 3302)
1) A representative sample has been found free through bacterial isolation laboratory testing for Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans) and Bacterial spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae) and Cucumber Green Mottle Mosaic Virus,
2) Consignment has been treated for the control of Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).

Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 7618)
1) According to the results of official laboratory test using bacterial isolation testing, the consignment is free from Cucurbits angular leaf spot (Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans) and Bacterial spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. cucurbitae),
2) According to the results of official laboratory test using ELISA, the consignment is free of Cucumber Green Mottle Mosaic Virus,
3) Consignment has been treated for the control of Anthracnose (Colletotrichum orbiculare).
