Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


It is the exporter's responsibility to ensurethat seeds meet Chile's quality requirements for seeds for sowing. Chile'sNPPO may reject consignments if they do not meet the requirements.


Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 6876:
  • Applies to seed of Australian origin.
  • A laboratory analysis certificate indicating that RT-qPCR testing was conducted is required to endorse freedom from Tomato brown rugose fruit virus.
  • A treatment certificate attesting to the treatment described in the Treatment section of this case is sufficient evidence to endorse treatment for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum acutatum) and Leaf spot of peppers (Colletotrichum capsici).
Endorsement 6877:
  • Applies to seed of Australian origin.
  • A laboratory analysis certificate indicating that RT-qPCR testing was conducted is required to endorse freedom from Tomato brown rugose fruit virus.
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Anthracnose (Colletotrichum acutatum) and Leaf spot of peppers (Colletotrichum capsici).
Endorsement 6878:
  • Applies to seed of non-Australian origin. The country of origin must be indicated in the additional product description.
  • A laboratory analysis certificate indicating that RT-qPCR testing was conducted is required to endorse freedom from Tomato brown rugose fruit virus.
  • A treatment certificate attesting to the treatment described in the Treatment section of this case is sufficient evidence to endorse treatment for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum acutatum) and Leaf spot of peppers (Colletotrichum capsici).
No endorsement:
  • A phytosanitary certificate with no endorsement is only to be issued for seeds of non-Australian origin which have been repacked in Australia, and for which the phytosanitary certificate from the country of origin or a combination of phytosanitary certificates from the country of origin and/or country or countries of re-export endorses freedom from Tomato brown rugose fruit virus, Anthracnose (Colletotrichum acutatum) and Leaf spot of peppers (Colletotrichum capsici).
  • Another endorsement must be used if no phytosanitary certificate meeting the above requirements is available.
  • "Origin of <country>" and the number(s) of the phytosanitary certificates with which the consignment entered Australia must be stated in the additional product description. Contact EXDOC Plant Programs (EXDOCPlantPrograms@agriculture.gov.au) to have the field enabled.
  • The original phytosanitary certificate from the country of origin, or a combination of phytosanitary certificates from the country of origin and/or country or countries of re-export endorses freedom from Tomato brown rugose fruit virus, Anthracnose (Colletotrichum acutatum) and Leaf spot of peppers (Colletotrichum capsici). indicating freedom from Pepper chat fruit viroid, Tomato brown rugose fruit virus, Tomato mottle mosaic virus and Potato spindle tuber viroid, must be presented to the Authorised Officer at time of inspection.
  • It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure the phytosanitary certificate(s) from the country/countries of origin endorsing freedom from these pests is sent with the Australian phytosanitary certificate issued for each consignment to ensure clearance in Chile.
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
The seeds are to be treated with appropriate fungicide according to the label requirements for Anthracnose (Colletotrichum acutatum) and Leaf spot of peppers (Colletotrichum capsici) when using endorsements 6876 or 6878.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

No treatment is required when no endorsement or endorsement 6876 is used.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 6876)
1) The consignment is free from Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) according to the results of the official lab analysis, RT-qPCR technique.
2) The Consignment has been treated for the control of Anthracnose (Colletotrichum acutatum) and Leaf spot of peppers (Colletotrichum capsici).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 6877)
1) The consignment is free from Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) according to the results of the official lab analysis, RT-qPCR technique. 
2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free of Anthracnose (Colletotrichum acutatum) and Leaf spot of peppers (Colletotrichum capsici).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 6878)
1) The consignment is free from Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) according to the results of the official lab analysis, RT-qPCR technique.
2) Consignment has been treated for the control of Anthracnose (Colletotrichum acutatum) and Leaf spot of peppers (Colletotrichum capsici).
