Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Phytosanitary certificate must be issued not more than 7 days prior to export.
Consignments of seeds do not require treatment if they are commercially labelled and in hermetically sealed packages.

Loose seeds must be dusted with an appropriate insecticide and fungicide at recommended manufacturers’ requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
