Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 7844:

  • Leaf spot of Safflower (Cercospora carthami), Safflower wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. carthami) and Safflower mosaic virus are not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Rust (Puccinia carthami) and Verticillium wilt (Verticillium albo-atrum).

Endorsement 7845:

  • Leaf spot of Safflower (Cercospora carthami), Safflower wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. carthami) and Safflower mosaic virus are not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Rust (Puccinia carthami) and Verticillium wilt (Verticillium albo-atrum).

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 7844)

1) Leaf spot of Safflower (Cercospora carthami), Safflower wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. carthami) and Safflower mosaic virus are not known to occur in Australia.

2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Rust (Puccinia carthami) and Verticillium wilt (Verticillium albo-atrum).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7845)

1) Leaf spot of Safflower (Cercospora carthami), Safflower wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. carthami) and Safflower mosaic virus are not known to occur in Australia.

2) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Rust (Puccinia carthami) and Verticillium wilt (Verticillium albo-atrum).
