Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Conditions apply to semi-processed / unfinished wooden furniture.

Must be free from bark.

Phytosanitary certificate must be issued within 14 days prior to export to Canada.

Consignments are to be either:

 

  • Heat treated;

OR

  • Fumigated with methyl bromide.

 

Heat treated:

 

  • Heat treated to a minimum core temperature of 56 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 30 minutes.


Fumigated with methyl bromide at:

  • 48 grm/m3 at 21 degrees Celsius or above for 24 hours;

OR

  • 56 grm/m3 at 16 degrees Celsius or above for 24 hours;

OR

  • 64 grm/m3 at 10 degrees Celsius or above for 24 hours

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
